ROUND 6 PREVIEW PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 15 March 2006
This Saturday night Sunshine George Cross travels to Paisley Park for the Round 6 fixture against second placed Altona Magic.

The Georgies came from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw against Richmond last week with Tony Neceski scoring via the penalty spot and Trent Waterson grabbing a late equaliser. New signings Fidel Richards and Mark Draycott also made their debut for the Georgies in the stifling conditions against Richmond.
The Magic are one of the form teams of the competition and played out a scoreless draw against the Melbourne Knights in the top of the table clash last weekend. The Knights and the Magic remain undefeated and head the Vodafone Cup table.
The form guide reads:
Sunshine George Cross: L W L L D
Altona Magic: W W D W D
The Georgie defence will have to be at it's best this week to contain Saso Becvinovski, the League's equal leading goal scorer. Becvinovski has four goals on the board, but our very own Tony Neceski is only one behind the leaders with three goals.
Kick off is at 7.30PM, with the Under 21's at 5.30PM.

This week's other games:
One of Victorian football's biggest fixtures during the old National League days was the South Melbourne vs Melbourne Knights game. This is a Round 6 game, however it is scheduled to be played on Monday, April 17 (Easter weekend). Oakleigh are at home to the improving Essendon Royals, Richmond take on Heidelberg, Frankston Pines entertain Kingston, Green Gully play Fawkner-Whittlesea and Preston Lions are away to Bulleen.
