ROUND 5 PREVIEW PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 06 March 2006
The Vodafone Cup resumes this week after the break last week to accommodate the Victorian State team's game in China. The week off has allowed the Georgies to re-group after successive losses and the Round 5 fixture against newly promoted Richmond at Chaplin Reserve is the challenge ahead.

This game was originally to be played in Albury, however, the game has been switched back to the more familiar surroundings of Chaplin Reserve, and after some disappointing results, home ground advantage must be utilised to reverse current form.
Both clubs are languishing at the wrong end of the table and even at this early stage of the season any points gained are valuable and vital to steer clear of the dreaded relegation zone.
The Georgies will be looking to get their season back on track, whilst Richmond, fresh from picking up a point at Green Gully will be keen to again avoid defeat.
Under 21's kick off at 3.00PM and the Seniors at 5.00PM.

This week's other games:
The match of the round looks to be between the undefeated Melbourne Knights and Altona Magic. Oakleigh, also yet to lose this season is away to Preston Lions. Last year's Grand Finalists, Heidelberg and Green Gully who are both struggling to pick up points battle it out at Olympic Village. Essendon take on South Melbourne at the Veneto, whilst Kingston are at home to Bulleen and Fawkner-Whittlesea play Frankston Pines.
