MARTIN JOHN (ViceCaptain) AGE 29. Goalkeeper.

Shirt number 1.

Martin is in his 5th season with the Georgies and will celebrate his 100th game for the club before the end of the first round. He has been the backbone of the defence and is without doubt one of the best keepers in Victoria.



DOUGLAS CAMERON AGE 27. Left Back.

Shirt number 24.

First season at the Georgies and has played in every game of the 2010 season.

 

BARRY DEVLIN. AGE 26 . MIDFIELD.

Shirt number 32

An IRISH import who came to the Georgies from Western Australian club the Western Knights. Barry won the West Australian Player of the Year in 2009 and in his opening games fort he Georgies he appears to be a very good signing.

 

Craig Sweeney. Age 20 

Shirt number .

Craig has recently returned to the club after spending the past two seasons playing for the Youth side at Melbourne Victory. He comes to the club from the N.T.C.

 

 

CHRIS KONSTAS. AGE 31. Central defender.

Shirt number 21.

Chris has proven to be a valuable acquisition for the Georgies. Now in his third season with the Cross, Chris continues work hard and hold control in the centre of our defence.

 

 

 

 



MATTHEW CINI. AGE 22. Right Back.

Shirt number 7

Having progressed from our junior academy, Matthew had the misfortune to miss the opening month of the season after suffering a pre-match injury. He will be keen to get back into the team and make up for lost time.





 

 


LUKE GROUNDS. AGE 28. RIGHT BACK.

Shirt number 33.

Luke signed for the Georgies this season after catching the eye of coach O'Dell playing for F.C. Clifton Hill. He has not put a foot wrong in his step up to the V.P.L. and looks set for a good career at this level.

TRENT WATERSON. AGE 25. Striker.

Shirt number 27.

Trent makes a return to the club after stints at South Melbourne and Oakleigh. He has yet to reach his potential and will be determined to make his cameback year a memorable one.

 

BEN COGGER. AGE 28. Midfield /striker.

Shirt number 17.

Ben has had to bide his time in winning a first team spot, but everytime he has come on he has not disappointed. He is fast and very hard woirking who is not far away from cementing a first team spot.

 

JAMES BLACKBURN. AGE 24. Midfield.

Shirt number 36.

Another first year player at the Georgies. Every time he has come on as a substitute he has played a significant role.

 

JULIAN BUZZANCA. AGE 20. Midfield.

A young talented player who gets his chance to establish himself in the V.P.L. Julian comes to the club from Whittlesea Zebras.

 

EVAN CHRISTODOULOU. AGE 19. Midfield.

Shirt number 31.

Came to the club last season and was the standout in the under 21 team. Was first team substitute on a number of occasions last season without taking the field. This season Evan has already started twice and came on once as asubstitute in the opening four rounds.

 

FIDEL RICHARDS. AGE 30. Midfield / Striker. Captain.

Shirt number 8.

Coach Andy O'Dell had great faith when he named Fidell Richards as 2010 captain and to date Fidell has more than repaid this faith. He has worked hard and has inspired his team mates and looks set for a big year.


DION PORTELLI. AGE 19. Defender.

Dion did pre-season training this year with Andy O'Dell, but decided to play in the first division with St. Albans. The move did not work out for Dion, and after some time out of the game, the 19 year old has decided to return to the Cross for another crack at making it in the V.P.L.


DAVID CALLEJA. AGE 20. Defender.

Young David Calleja continues to train hard biding his time hoping to get the chance to make his break through. David returned to the club this year after moving to Altona Magic last season.

 

ANDREW NABBOUT. AGE 17. WINGER.

Andrew made a big impression in his brief time on the field against South Melbourne last season, and was included in this season's seniore squad. Has plenty of talent, strenght and speed and is a good crosser of the ball from the left wing.

 

MARCO ROSANO. AGE 26. Midfield.

Marco joined the Georgies in the mid-season transfer window from Northcote City. He is determined to make prove himself and win a permanant place in the first team.  

 

 

RICKY CHILLICO. AGE 26 Midfield.

The Georgies can look forward to this quality player once he gets to full fitness. He has tons of experience having played with Essendon Royals, Preston and Fawkner and has the knack of scoring goals.

 
   

ANDREW BOURAKIS. AGE 24 Midfield.

This talented player returns to the club where he spent a few years playing for our juniors. Andrew was signed from Dandenong Thunder and has also played for South Melbourne. He is always willing to have a shot at goals and has knocked in a number from free kick situations. 

 
   

AHMET TURER. AGE 19. Striker.

The former South Melbourne striker comes to the Georgies after a short stint at Northcote City. He is a very talented youngster who has a big future in the game.

 
   

TAXIARHIS APOSTOLIKAS. AGE 24. Striker.

'Tex' is expected to lead the George Cross attack after being signed from Bentleigh Greens. The talented forward has yet to realize his true potential having had spells at  South Melbourne, Altona East and Whittlesea Zebras. 

 
 

SHAUN ROMEIN. AGE 23. Midfield.

No one has shown as much dedication as Shaun has this season. He was suspended earlier this season and had to sit out many weeks on the side lines. This did not deter Shaun from travelling twice a week to attend training from Ballarat. He made his Georgie debut against Heidelberg United and has played every game since then.
