Round 3 of the Vodafone Cup sees Sunshine George Cross experience it's second taste of Friday night football this season. The Veneto Social Club in Bulleen will host the clash against the Essendon Royals. Kick Off is at 8.15 PM (Under 21's at 6.15 PM).

Last season the Georgies didn't fare too well playing under lights so the time to reverse this trend is now! The Royals lost many experienced players in the off-season with the likes of Curcija, Harbinson and Iosifidis moving on to different clubs. Players of that calibre are very difficult to replace but after losing their opening game, Essendon earned a point away to the Melbourne Knights.

The Georgies' confidence should be sky high after mauling the Preston Lions 4-1 at Chaplin Reserve. Cult hero Tony Neceski bagged a brace of goals with Dusko Delic and Marinos Gasparis scoring the others. Englishman Craig Platt was impressive on debut and said he enjoyed the game and the support from the terraces.
The Georgies also regain the services of Ivan Filipovic this week who is available for selection after serving a week's suspension.
