This was another big game for Sunshine George Cross, a local derby against our neighbours St. Albans Saints. The up and coming St Albans Saints were coming off a good win against Altona Magic and we knew we were going to be in for a tough afternoon at windswept Chaplin Reserve. Our lads were on a high after reaching top spot in the league after a great result against Whittlesea Ranges and for us it was just a matter of the keeping the boys focused with the job at hand.

Sunshine George Cross to take on Saints this Saturday

Our boys will be taking on 7th placed St.Albans in what should be an interesting local derby. St.Albans are coming off a 1 nil win against Altona Magic which will no doubt give their boys a boost coming into this match. Those that witnessed our home game last week against Whittlesea would have left suitably impressed by the performance our boys all round the park. It was no doubt our best performance for the year and the boys will need to produce something along the same lines to knock off the Saints who always lift for this derby encounter.

We hope to see a good crowd at the ground on Saturday to cheer on the boys.

Round 5 FFV Cup Draw

The draw for the 5th round of the FFV cup has been made.
Matches will be played on the weekend of 9th June.
The Georgies have been drawn againt either Mildura City or Castlemaine Goldfields.

GEORGE CROSS REMAIN UNDEFEATED WITH GREAT HOME WIN

It was a big game against league leader Whittlesea Ranges, who arrived at Chaplin Reserve full of confidence  with three wins on the trot, the league top goal scorer John Sapasovski (with 6 in 3) and only having conceded two goals thus far.
