Stan joined George Cross on arriving from England in 1953 and played with the club until 1959. On retiring from playing Stan took on the role of club secretary for six years from 1961 until 1967. At the same time Stan became a highly respected football journalist with his weekly reports on all thing football for Melbourne leading sporting publication 'The Sporting Globe'. All at the club offer their condolences to the family of Stan Stacey.
