The coaching staff have, and will continue to be very busy during the pre-season period with every day of the week out on the training track. Besides the normal three sessions on Monday, Wednesday & Friday for the established players, Tony Ciantar and Paul Donnelly have been holding extra trial sessions on Tuesday and Thursday for newcomers. Tony & Paul felt it would be more beneficial for all to have a manageable senior squad by separating the established players and the newcomers. Trials will continue this week and possibly next week before selecting the final squad. The Georgie players who are back from last season are: Barry Devlin, Eddie Soares, Heo 'Kaka' Wookbum, David Straniero, Simon Menichelli, Michael Kelly, Ben Cogger, Con Anthopolous, Nicholas Scerri, Tony Saric, Habib Fleifel. This is a very pleasing aspect and vastly different to the start of last season, with very few established players at training. Football Operation Manager Jason Xerri said the vibe around the team is second to none, with every player putting in extra effort without any encouragement.  Under 21 coach Michael Pichner has most of his squad back from last season, as well as many other players who want to join our club. Michael is pleased with the turn out at every training session, but wants to establish his squad quickly. He has already starting eliminating players who are not up to standard.
