BIG SET BACK FOR MUHAMAD CHAWK

chawk muhamad2One of our most disappointed players is twenty-year old Muhamad Chawk who will miss the best part of the first half of the season. The youngster initially tore medial ligaments in his left ankle last year against Box Hill. The ligament recovered fully, but excess scar tissue was found in between two bones that caused him a lot of pain. X-rays, Ultra sound and MRI didn't show anything, so last Friday he underwent surgery. He had arthroscopy on his ankle which was successful. Now it's recovery time which will probably take six to twelve weeks. Muhamad has an appointment with the surgeon again in a weeks time and he'll verify exactly how long he will be sidelined. We wish Muhamad all the best and wish him a speedy recovery.

SCORCHING GALA DAY

Our junior teams participated in matches against Kingston City at today's Gala Day at Brookside. Plenty of goals were scored with most teams turning on the style. Congratulations to all who took part in the scorching conditions: These are all the results: U-9 won 18-1,  U-10 won 8-1,  U-11 won 10-2,  U-12 lost 6-3,  U-13 won 9-0,   U-14 won 11-0,  U-15 won 7-0,  U-16 won 7-0,  U-18 drew 1-1.

JACOB'S BAD BREAK

attard jacob2Nineteen year old defender Jacob Attard came off second best in a training mishap at training last Tuesday when going in for a tackle. He suffered a kick to the face from an opponent's heel that broke his nose. Jacob will shortly go into surgery and at this stage it is unknown how long he will be unavailable to resume playing. It isn't the ideal way to start the season for young Jacob and all at the club wish him a speedy recovery and that it won't be long before we see him back on the field.
