The long awaited arrival of Alan Kearney is over, with the former Everton Youth Academy player arriving a couple of days prior to the Green Gully game. He watched his new team-mates win the derby on Sunday and was itching to get on the park and give his new team-mates a hand. He wasn't eligable at the time as he is awaiting his overseas clearance to come through. Alan joined the Everton Academy in 2003 where he played in the under 17 team. That same year he also played for the under 19 Everton team. Kearney established himself in the senior Academy team and became a regular member of Everton reserve side. The left sided player was loaned out by Everton manager David Moyes to Chester City before the youngster moved back home to play for Waterford United in the League of Ireland. In 2008 he joined Cobh Ramblers and participated in the big pre-season game against English Premier League side Sunderland than coached by Roy Keane. The Irish under age international becomes the third Irishmen at our club along with Joe Clancey and John Black. Let's hope they bring a little bit of Irish luck to Sunshine. All at Sunshine George Cross extend Alan a warm welcome to the club and wish him a happy stay down-under with the Georgies.
