Sunshine George Cross has appointed Tony Ciantar head coach for the 2012 season, after several meetings with the committee. The 45 year old was one of a short list of candidates for the position. Tony has been coach at Brunswick City for the last 4 years where the stabilised the club and is held in high esteem at the club. His decision to leave Brunswick City was not an easy one, but once he made up his mind, he left the club on very good terms. His past season at Brunswick saw the club finish in 3rd place, after a very shaky start to the season. Tony is no stranger at George Cross, where he was in the first team squad during the 1988 National League season. He continued his playing career at Green Gully before moving onto Albion. His coaching appointments over the past decade has seen him assistant coach to John Markovski at Fawkner / Whittlesea. Besides his love of the game, Tony has established a prosperous business in the building industry. We welcome Tony to the club and wish him a happy and successful time at the Georgies.
