CAROLINE SPRINGS GEORGE CROSS F.C. 1 BOX HILL UNITED 2
C.S.G.C.F.C. went down 2-1 to NPL2 side Box Hill United in a pre-season friendly match at Chaplin Reserve on Wednesday night. The Georgie’s effort in the first half against the Hillmen was impressive and very heartening considering they were playing a side that is well into their training schedule.  The Cross dominated the early periods and created the majority of chances, but only scored one from some very good openings. Corey Smith made 13 changes at the 60th minute to asses as many players as possible.

Smith said: “We could have killed off the game before the break. It’s an area we haven’t worked on as yet but that is something that stood out. It is encouraging to see player’s behaviours being replicated on the pitch from the few training sessions we have had. At this early stage I am pleased and the players should be content with that performance, whilst realisticly we still have lots to do to be ready by round one".
