2019 signing jakob krajacic from melb. knightsGeorge Cross continues to build its 2019 squad with the acquisition of 19 year old centre back Jakob Krajacic from Melbourne Knights. When Jakobruns out to play his first game for George Cross, he will become one of a rare breed of players at our club, that being a son following in his father’s footsteps and play for the Georgies. To date only four other players have done this.

Jakob’s father Robbie was a gentleman and a very talented footballer who represented Victoria and excelled in his two seasons with George Cross in 1998 and 1999. In his first season at S.G.C. Robbie was named the club’s Player of the Year.

Young Jakob would love nothing better than to emulate his father achievements, but like Jakob said: “Hopefully I can live up to the name”. The Youngster was at the NTC for one season and for the rest of his football life he has been at Melbourne Knights. He is really looking forward to the change hoping this will kick start his career.

Jakob said: “Getting this opportunity is huge for me and I am keen to build a championship winning side to get the club back into the NPL where they belong. I am incredibly excited to join such a prestigious club with such great history I am looking forward to a very successful 2019. I’m looking forward to the challenge”.

Coach Corey Smith “Jakob has all the attributes of developing into a top centre back and if nurtured correctly could be a top player for our future. I can’t wait to work with him”.

All at the club welcome Jakob and hope he realizes his dreams with the Georgies.
