chris traintosWhen the opportunity came up for 22 year-old Chris Triantos to join our club he didn’t think twice about it and signed immediately to become the eleventh signing by the club to date.

Chris Triantos playing for Eastern Lions The decision to join was an easy for Chris after seeing the rebuilding program taking place and direction the club is taking. He wanted to be part of this vision and the club's future.

Chris developed as a footballer with three junior clubs Clifton Hill, Richmond SC and Northcote City.

The youngster is very much indebted to his parents throughout his junior days for putting in so much time taking him to trainings and matches and many other sacrifices they made when he was a junior player. Chris said; “They have supported my football career throughout and without them I would not be playing, they are and will always be the most influential people in my football career”.

He made his senior football debut in 2013 as a 17 year-old at Moreland Zebras in the NPL2 and that season the youngster made a several senior team appearances off the bench. Chris regards the 2013 season as the best one for him yet and topped it off being named the Zebras under 21s best and fairest player.

Chris is also a very handy Futsal player having represented the Victorian All Star team in 2014. He spent a season with Eastern Lions before transferring to 3rd Division State League side Westvale Olympic. In 2016 Chris was part of Westvale’s promotion winning team to the 2nd Division and in 2017 he finished up the Westvale’s Top goal scorer. This past season Chris once again excelled when he was awarded the club’s Best and Fairest award.

Chris ranks himself as a defensive midfielder, who loves to get on the ball as much as possible. I can also play as a full back, loves a tackle and to start play from the back.

Coach Corey Smith says Chris radiates all the qualities the club is looking to build a culture on.

All at George Cross welcome Chris and wish him a happy time at the club and a great season.
