He made a big impression in his short time with the club before his untimely departure.

He made a six months stop over in Malta where he played 12 matches for Sliema Wanderers, scoring one goal for the Blues.

He then returned to his homeland Scotland and signed for Albion Rovers until the end of 1989 season, where he made 21 appearances for the Rovers, scoring 10 goals.

The roving Clark was then signed by John Clark for Clyde for £10,000 and played 26 matches scoring 11 goals for the 1989/90 season.

Billy McLaren paid £60,000 to take Clark to Hamilton Academical where he scored 72 goals in his 258 appearances. Gary Clark was settled with Hamilton and during the 8 seasons with the 'Accies' he won 2 Challenge Cup Winners medals and played under the management of Iain Munro, Sandy Clark and Colin Miller.

Gary Clark then played 24 matches for Alloa Athletic scoring 5 goals in the 1999-2000 season. In his time there the team won promotion and the Challenge Cup.

At the end of that season he left Alloa FC and returned to Hamilton Academicals, where they won the League in his last season of senior football.

Here is Gary's message to all Georgie fans: 'I loved my time at George Cross and met lots of great people, you were my family for nearly 2 years. Would have loved to have stayed longer, but I was homesick when in Oz. I had a long career when I came back to Scotland. Never made it to the very top, but had a great time and played professional until I was 38. All the best to all at the club and please pass my best wishes on to all the guys. Is Joe Buhagiar still about?
